Bailando Semillas / Dancing Seeds (2025)

Created together with Luz Zenaida Hualpa García and Masaru Nishimoto, this video (20 min) weaves together dance, community, and land shaped by migration, exploring how dance is practiced and transmitted. A central thread is the dialogue with Alejandra Ambukka Tafur, a 75-year-old Afroperuvian dancer, oral historian, and chronicler of the Afroperuvian community of Malambo/Rímac (Lima). Filmed in July 2024, the conversations reflect over a decade of work by Luz Y Color, a community dance project in Berlin led by dancer and choreographer Luz Zenaida Hualpa García, a student of Master Ambukka. The video interlaces discussions with dancers, researchers, and communities in Lima, Reque, and Zaña (Peru), touching on Afro-Indigenous contributions, colonial legacies, racism, and neoliberal economies.
